There was a minute where accent walls were just about everywhere. Everybody was throwing up feature walls - some of you might've been thinking, man, I really need to get me an accent wall...

But you might also be wondering, are they still in style? How do I even choose where to put one? Like does every room just get it's own special wall?

Accent Wall Tips

For the record, I'll say that yes, they're still "in style." Kind of 😉

As a strategic design element - yes go for it!

But let's hold off on creating accent walls just for the sake of it.

Tip #1

Ok, now that we've got that out of the way, I'll share my number one tip for choosing an accent wall:

Look for a wall with natural end points. This might be an interior corner (as opposed to an outer edge corner) or some sort of trim. This will make it feel intentional and keeps you from trying to work magic paint lines.

This also means you might go for a whole corner (like above) as opposed to one specific wall.
