Ok, I'll come out and say it - I'm sort of a stress ball right. Life has been coming at me hard and I'm using allll my strategies to deal.

​

In addition to the usual, like therapy sessions, journaling, and my pitiful attempts at deep breathing - I also organize the hell out of my space.

​

Tidy space, tidy mind - right?

But, I admit, sometimes tackling organization can be downright overwhelming. So, in the spirit of spring cleaning (or anxiety cleaning in my book), I'm sharing some of my very best organizing tips.

5 Organizing Tips:

Here are my quick tips - head to the full article for more details:

• Purge - don't waste time organizing things you don't even need. Toss, donate, & recycle.
• O.H.I.O Rule (Only Handle It Once) - shifting items from here to there? Pick it up once and make a decision where it goes
• Zone Defense - Create different areas based on FUNCTION (e.g. cleaning zone, sports gear zone, work zone)
• Group It - Now, group all the similar items together (shoes, pens, sunscreen, spray cleaners, etc. get grouped together)
• Make a Routine - It's not going to get solved all at once. For example, I deep clean the kitchen every Thursday. My boys have daily chores and tackle one zone per day.
