Round vs Rectangle Coffee Table? Hmm, What To Choose?

Published 2 months ago • 1 min read

Hello Reader,

Sometimes, what seems like the simplest of decisions can be the hardest to make. (I mean, have you seen me standing all indecisive in the chocolate aisle?)

When it comes to home styling, there's one piece of furniture that makes many folks uncertain. The humble coffee table.

Well, I've rounded up some of the most common questions & shared my thoughts here - along with some of my favorite options.

And forget pineapple on pizza, round or rectangular is the true debate!

What size coffee table should I use?

Typically, a table that is 2/3 the length of the couch is a good proportion. If you have a sectional, measure the inside seating and use that length.

Should I go for a round or rectangular table?

Generally, rectangle coffee tables work well in larger spaces. They also lean towards a more traditional/formal layouts with a standard couch and accent chairs.

Round tables are a great option in smaller, cozier spaces. Or when extra foot room around the table is needed, like with a sectional.

Larger round tables also can create a cozy, gathering vibe in what is otherwise a larger, expansive space.

How to style a coffee table?

When it comes to tables, the rule of threes is your friend. Gather three different items and casually group together. My favorites include: vase + books + interesting item.

(And by interesting item, it's usually something random I've collected or my boys have found over the years, like a pretty stick, cool rock, or a vintage rope knot).

Home Styling with Allisa tips & projects for an authentic home Hello Reader, Ok, I'll come out and say it - I'm sort of a stress ball right. Life has been coming at me hard and I'm using allll my strategies to deal. In addition to the usual, like therapy sessions, journaling, and my pitiful attempts at deep breathing - I also organize the hell out of my space. Tidy space, tidy mind - right? But, I admit, sometimes tackling organization can be downright overwhelming. So, in the spirit of...

Home Styling with Allisa tips & projects for an authentic home Hello Reader, In the last couple months, I'd had a whole host of contractors here. From kitchen cabinets to crawl spaces, there is work to do. And, I will be the first to admit, getting bids can be absolutely overwhelming. Whether it's just the sheer amount of time involved or staring at numbers you had no idea could be so big. (Um, excuse me sir, I think you added an extra zero there....) Well, after having worked on several...
