Hello Reader,

Ok, I'm a summer girl at heart, but I love some good cozy weather. And this morning, fall came in all its glory - a chilly fog leading to golden sunshine.

Time to bust out those cardigans... and fall home decor!

And if you've been here for a good bit, you probably know I'm a big fan of subtle + natural seasonal decor. No need to rush out and buy or store tons of stuff.

So today, I thought I'd share some autumn shelf pics I styled previously- using decor you probably have nearby!

Natural Fall Shelf Decor Ideas:

  • Dried Botanicals (check your yard - so many things look pretty when drying, like hydrangeas!)
  • Woven Items (gather up all those platters & baskets - group together intentionally)
  • Artwork - (switch up to warmer prints, I rotate my art throughout the year - and moods!)
  • Natural Elements (wood, terra cotta, ceramic, sticks)
  • Produce - (pumpkins, squash, pears, etc. - I like to group them separately for more effect)
  • Amber Glass Bottles - I collect vintage ones and reuse Kombucha and face serum bottles too

Making Spaces allisajacobs.com Hello Reader, I will be the first one to tell you that when it comes to home decor, do what you love. However.....sometimes, we're not exactly sure what we love. Like you might look at a room and think, hmmm, I like it, but it just feels off. There are lots of reasons this might be (I love putting on my detective hat and figuring out why) but a majority of the time, a room needs more texture. Or maybe just any texture at all. This is the design element often...

white kitchen with rug and wood shelves

Making Spaces allisajacobs.com Hello Reader, So, a couple weeks back I turned 45. While aging has never bothered me, this year felt particularly monumental. Another year of experiences, battles hard fought, and lessons learned. It's always been kind of a badge of honor to think I made it this far. The lines in my face and gray in my hair tells a story that's just my own. And the same is true for our homes. It reminded me of this lovely quote from Patsy Stone (a character from a British...
