New Series: Home Decor Quotes We Can Learn From

Making Spaces

Hello Reader,

Fall is in the air around here and it feels like a good time to start a new series.

Ok, I'll be honest here, I'm in my healing era. (Feels so adult to say that ๐Ÿ˜‰) And this means I've been mindful of the words and content I allow inside my brain.

And you know what - this extends to my home as well!

I'm starting this new email series where I'll share an inspiring home quote AND how we can implement into our spaces right away.

Off we go....

Breaking it down:

To me, this quote means that home feels best when it's authentic and is a reflection of who we are as humans.

Not a carbon copy of someone else's space. Not a room filled with decor from "hauls."

Instead, a room that gives a glimpse of the people that live there. Like little peeks into what makes them unique.

How to Apply This Quote:

When looking at your home, take some time to think how it already reflects you?

For me, this looks like:

Architecture & Irish fiction books, vintage finds from my travels, photos of my boys, art prints from special artists, a stick my son whittled for me when he was young.

Also, a dried tumbleweed found on a road trip, calming neutral colors, and plants...all the plants (most with their own little story).

Making changes:

  • Choose paint colors that FEEL right to you (not just ones you like)
  • Consider less decor pieces without meaning
  • If a room feels "off" - find one thing to add that tells your story

Also, these emails have been a little late recently - typically they are set for Thursdays but lately, well.... I'm working on it!

Cheers to making a more authentic home!

Making Spaces allisajacobs.com Hello Reader, I will be the first one to tell you that when it comes to home decor, do what you love. However.....sometimes, we're not exactly sure what we love. Like you might look at a room and think, hmmm, I like it, but it just feels off. There are lots of reasons this might be (I love putting on my detective hat and figuring out why) but a majority of the time, a room needs more texture. Or maybe just any texture at all. This is the design element often...
